Okay, so before we get into this blog post, let us explain a little bit about what this series is about!
We always get to hear about our couples’ love stories, and we absolutely love getting to hear them and learn more about them!
But we realized that our couples really don’t know much about our love story… so, this series is allll about how we met, how we started to date and of course, how Matlock proposed!
So, without further ado, here’s the first part!
It was a Wednesday evening in February.
Freezing in Chicago, she was all curled up with her blankets on the couch.
She was doing what every 23-year-old does: scrolling through Facebook. Okay, maybe she was “stalking” friends of friends – you know how that goes, where you end up on their cousin’s friend’s Facebook and then you’re like… wait… how did I get here?
Anyway. As she was browsing, a little red circle popped up next to the ‘friends’ icon with a number one in the middle.
A friend request? *click*
Matlock Reeves? Who’s that? *click*
Oooh, he’s cute!
He lives in Florida? Funny because she visits there practically every year.
She continues to scroll and sees they have a few mutual friends, but that was really just a bonus because let’s be honest, when a cute guy sends you a friend request, you don’t really care how many friends you have in common, right?
But it was still funny that even though they had a handful of friends in common that they never met.
She hits ‘Approve.’
Wanting to know more, she scrolled all the way back to September when it was his birthday.
“Happy 28th, dude!” was one of the comments.
Okay… not bad, only 5 years older.
She left it at that.
“In a few days he’ll probably message me and we’ll go from there,” she thought. Perfect plan!
So, she waited…
And waited.
A month goes by and he still hadn’t messaged her.
As she was at her friend’s house watching Sex and the City with a glass of wine in hand, she tells her friends about this guy who never messaged her.
But for some reason, she knew he wasn’t just one of “those” guys. He was different. You ever get that feeling in your gut when you just know something?
This was one of those times…
