We are big believers in that you should continue dating your spouse even though you’re not dating anymore.
But, let’s be honest… coming up with new and fun date night ideas can be kind of hard. And before you know it you two settle on just hanging out on the couch on your phones… not exactly romantic π
And especially now with the current state of things, you may not want to go out for every date night, but what date nights can you do at home? Well, that’s where we come in!
We have quite a few ideas that are fun and romantic!
1. Random snacks and move night
We actually got this idea from Tik Tok, but we love it so much!
Next time you guys are at the grocery store, go to the candy aisle. On eof you will spin around with your eyes closed and the other will tell you when to stop. Once you’re told to stop, walk forward with your eyes still closed and your hands out, and whichever candy your hands touch is what you have to buy!
Do the same thing for wine, pizza, a movie, etc. and voila! You have a fun, cute date night for when you get home π
2. Make your own dinner/dessert at home
Even if neither of you are good cooks, this is such a fun date night idea! We personally love making anything Italian for our dinner-at-home date nights, but you can make whatever you’d like. Use this as an opportunity to cook something new – from authentic spaghetti carbonara to ice cream from scratch to delicious Thai food, the sky is the limit. Matlock and I have had such a great time expanding our cooking skills and creating something completely new! This is also fun as a double date night with friends!
3. Video game night
So, if you’re like me and you never play video games, you’re probably thinking “Kelly, there’s no way. This will be more fun for him than me!” But hear me out on this one. Even if you never play video games, you can have him teach you or you can both learn a new game together. I’m pretty sure he’ll love that you want to play and will be excited to show you the ropes. You never know… you may end up loving video games after all π
4. Wine or Chocolate Tastings
We’ve never done this, but I am loving the idea! Grab a few bottles of wine or a few bars of chocolate (make sure to get ones that you wouldn’t normally get or haven’t heard of), bring them home and do tastings of them all. Make sure to tell each other what flavors you taste and if you like it or not. Honestly, when we do this ourselves I’ll most likely get both chocolate and wine to taste test!
5. Theme night!
This one is fun! Choose a theme and center everything you do around it. So, if you chose Italian (clearly I love Italian food hehe), you could have bruschetta for an appetizer, make pizza or spaghetti for dinner, eat gelato for dessert, and watch a movie likeΒ The Italian Job.Β You could do this for Mexican, Christmas, 1990s, etc.
Well guys, we hope these stay-at-home date night ideas can inspire you for your next date night together! If you end up doing any of these, or if you have more ideas, leave a comment below! We’d love to hear from you π
Until next time!
xoxo,
Matlock and Kelly
