As Kelly was deciding between the East and West coast, she ultimately decided on… going to Tampa!
She knew that there was something about Matlock that was just drawing her in to see where their relationship could go.
So, she arrived to Tampa on the 4th of July and the first person she met up with while she was there was Matlock. They watched fireworks and hung out with friends, and a week later they went out on their first coffee date (I like to think that I turned Matlock into a coffee lover 😉) Matlock showed her all around the St. Pete and Tampa areas, and introduced her to one of her all-time favorite spots… Oxford Exchange! (By the way, if you haven’t been… you 100% need to go!)
After about a month of hanging out every day, Matlock made it official and asked Kelly if she wanted a relationship with him… and by now, I’m sure you know the answer to that!
Three months later, Kelly had a decision to make.
She had been in Florida for FOUR months! So, was she going to stay with her pretty new boyfriend? Or go back home to Chicago?
Well, we won’t leave you on another cliff hanger haha – Kelly decided to stay and move in with Matlock. A risk she was willing to take because she knew their relationship was worth it.
After two apartments, getting Finn (their cat), and lots of adventures along the way, Matlock popped the question… which we’ll spill how it ALL happened on the next ‘The Story of Us’ blog post!
